How I got into comics: Somehow, I found myself in a comic shop after watching the X-Men cartoon. A little while later, I convinced my dad to take me to a different comic shop and that's when I started seriously collecting. My collection really started growing when I got into the monthly habit, and found many great deals on eBay. I finally hit the 2000 mark in April 2004, with JLA/Avengers #4.
How I got into fan fiction: I was new to the net, and I was looking for something to do, and I knew that there were websites related to comics. I learned about fanfiction from the links provided by the search engine. A few clicks later, I ended up at Marvel-X, and after a few failed projects, I started my own site. That didn't do so well, mostly because there was nothing to distinguish it from any other Marvel fanfic site. Then I came up with the merging idea, and it took off from there. A few years later, it's still here.
Comics I read: Astonishing X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Captain America, The Spirit, Superman, Action Comics, Superman Confidential, Batman, Detective Comics, Nightwing, Green Lantern, Justice League of America, Justice Society of America, and 52 in comic format; Bone, Fables, Y: The Last Man, and most Ultimate titles in TPBs; and Supreme Power/Squadron Supreme in HC

How I got into comics: Someone gave me a comic as a gift as a kid (a Thor issue) and I loved it.
How I got into fan fiction: I'm irate at the poor quality of most of the books out today. Too many gimmicks and not enought substance. Great characters are going to waste. This is a good forum to utilize those characters properly.
Comics I read: JSA, JLA, Astro City, & anything by Alan Moore (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Supreme, Top 10, Tom Strong, Promethea, Tomorrow Stories)

How I got into comics: The Batman TV show in syndication and a relative's old collection.
How I got into fan fiction: I'm not particularly "into" it; it's just a means to exorcise my attraction to fantasy. I really should be working on horror projects that actually pay me.

Comics I read: Legion, Flash, JSA, Batman, Amazing Spider-Man, Spectacular Spider-Man, Astro City, Bone, Liberty Meadows, The Crew, Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men, The Ultimates, Titans, Outsiders, Hawkman

How I got into fan fiction: I was looking for Photomanipulations and ended up at the Aurora Universe. From there I went to Otherverse and then to DCM and CFan. I always wanted to write comics and this seemed like something I would enjoy.

How I got into comics: I wanted something to read on vacation...and we'd always go to the book store, but I didn't like books. I flipped through an issue of X-Force and saw characters I recognized from the cartoon (Cable, Bishop, Storm, Beast, Gambit...X-Men had guest-starred that issue =)). I bought it and a few more X-Force issues and got hooked. Onslaught happened soon after, and I was exposed to every flamin' Marvel comic and liked most of 'em...so I bought 'em. I didn't get into DC 'till much later. I had heard a lot of good stuff about Young Justice, and I loved the art, so I picked up an issue and got hooked. I got into Joe's Comics because J. Michael Straczynski is a god. I got into Scion because Jim Cheung is another god.
How I got into fanfic: I got into fanfic when a friend of mine told me he was starting one. I liked writing, and thought it would be cool. X-Force was taken, and I was really upset...it was the only book I really felt I could strongly write. Then the writer decided to give up X-Force to take X-Factor, and I got it. In one year's time, I wrote 19 issues and 1 annual, as well as a Spider-Man mini-series, and was just launching a new book, X-Squad. I was hooked =)
Comics I read: Young Justice, Green Arrow, Rising Stars, Midnight Nation, Scion, Gatecrasher, Fathom, Uncanny X-Men, X-Treme X-Men, New X-Men, X-Men Unlimited, Exiles, Ultimate X-Men, X-Statix, Ultimate Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man, Spectacular Spider-Man, Ultimate Marvel Team-Up, Daredevil, Thunderbolts, and Sojourn.
